Jet Tec Inkjet and Toner Catridges Refill Tips
- Remove cartridge from printer before refilling.
- Conduct the refilling operation over a protected surface, such as a kitchen sink or work bench, to avoid spills.
- To fill the syringe, remove protective cover from the needle and insert through the seal on the bottle. Pull back on plunger and remove from ink bottle slowly.
- The best time to refill a cartridge is before it is completely empty. Do not refill a cartridge that has been emptied for longer than 2 weeks.
- Be very careful not to put the wrong colour ink into the cartridge. You can identify the colour in a chamber by inserting the injector into the chamber and withdrawing a small amount of ink to visually verify the colour. Remember Magenta is the technical name for Red and Cyan is the technical name for Blue.
- When filling a sponge cartridge, it's best to back off or withdraw a small amount of ink when the cartridge becomes full. The object is to saturate the sponge, not have it floating in ink. It's better to under fill, than to overfill.
- Refilling a cartridge before it runs out of ink prevents the print head from burning out and extends the life of sponge filled cartridges.
- Handle cartridges carefully and avoid touching metallic parts. To store ink cartridges fill and then leave at room temperature in a sealed zip lock plastic bag.
- Storage procedure for inkjet cartridges with a print head on them: after refilling, wipe the head clean with a paper towel that has been saturated with Inkjet Cleaning Fluid. And again before use, to remove any dried ink which may block them.
